Read a QR code from a saved image
Inspect a screenshot or photograph locally before following its destination.
Select a clear image
Choose a PNG, JPEG or WebP file up to 10 MB. A screenshot should show the entire code and its surrounding border. For a photograph, avoid reflections, blur and steep angles. This tool reads one QR code at a time; crop a copy of an image containing several codes if the wrong one is detected.
Inspect the decoded text
The result appears as text and is not opened automatically. Check a website hostname carefully before visiting it. A contact card or WiFi code may expose private details, so avoid sharing the decoded text without checking what it contains. Copy only when you need to use the information elsewhere.
Use the camera when convenient
Camera access starts after you press Start camera and grant permission. It requires a supported browser and a secure page. Stop scanning when finished; the tool also releases the camera after finding a code or when the tab is hidden. If permission is unavailable, use the image picker. Images and scan results stay in the browser.
